Actor Lee Min-Ho recently began filming for his scenes in THE BLADE AND PETAL as he plays Tae-Ja, the first son of King Yeongnyu (Kim Young-Chul). Tae-Ja is scripted as a kind man and enjoys reading, painting and the martial arts. Due to his kind personality, a conflict occurs with his father King Yeongnyu and Yeon Gaesomun over his father's successor. The King obviously wants his son Tae-Ja to takeover his throne, but Yeon Gaesomun opposes, believing Tae-Ja is too weak.
THE BLADE AND PETAL first airs July 3, 2013 in South Korea (takes over the time slot currently held by "The Fugitive of Joseon").
